Typically Samsung.....

...as in top quality. Bought it to display nav software in my UTV. The max screen brightness is acceptable in sunlight buried wish it was even brighter even though it takes battery power. Too bad tablets like this don't have a white screen like Kindles. Still, it's a nice product and I'm glad I bought it

It works!

First, for those claiming it doesn't work in direct sunlight, or they can't make calls or text, read what you are buying as there are different versions and if you buy the WIFI only version and then can't make calls or text, that is really on you and not Amazon or Samsung.
When it comes to direct sunlight, it works just fine. The key to anything is reading the manual and then understanding how to use the tablet. Turn off the auto-brightness because that is more useful for low light than bright light. Next, turn the brightness to maximum and you'll be able to see the display clearly even with the sun shining directly on the tablet. Now here is something you need to pay attention to. It doesn't matter who makes the tablet, what brand, what kind of screen etc, if you leave a tablet out in direct sunlight when the temperature is hot as in the warmer months it isn't going to last very long, period. There is no way around it because the tablet can get hotter than it was ever designed to work in and you can damage ANY tablet screen by leaving it in the sun. It's common sense and your smartphones will also be damaged if you do that, even the very expensive models.
This tablet just works, the screen is bright and the fingerprint reader is so helpful. The stylus is something that sets this apart from all the others, it's integrated and is smooth and accurate. Drawing and writing is a pleasure with none of the chicken scratch that the thick rubber eraser type styluses present.
It's rugged too. I use it on a motorcycle as mapping/GPS and through many thousands of miles with all the vibration, weather and yes, direct sunlight it just works.
There is no tablet made, it doesn't matter who makes it that will survive any kind of drop onto concrete. Even military grade tablets need bulky shock isolation cases to keep them working where getting dropped is routine. If you plan on dropping the tablet often (how do so many people drop phones and tablets anyway?) then just get a rubber bumper type case and solve your slippery fingers problem.
I've had two of these, the other was the smaller version and is still going strong. I wouldn't hesitate to get another.

I've had this tablet for quite some time and it's lasted and held up to its buck. I've been able to do so many things on this as well as keep up with work documents. Definitely recommend.

I have more of question really. Is there a case/keyboard combo that uses the pogo pins and weighs less than this rubber case?

Ergonomically UNUSABLE

I really wanted to like this Galaxy Tab Active PRO tablet, but I can't. In fact, at this point I really kind of hate it due to one factor: the terrible placement of the function buttons.
To be fair, the tablet it's perfect in almost every respect, but the placement of the function buttons is terrible and frustrating.
When held in landscape mode (which is the only way I use it) the function buttons are located on the bottom bezel.
This means that if you want to click the Home or Back buttons you have to lift it up to press them. The older Galaxy TAB devices have the buttons on the right which is perfect, because that's where your thumb naturally ends up.
The buttons are also marked so faintly that even under bright light it's nearly impossible to see the markings. Not a deal-breaker, but it shows a real lack of thought in terms of end-user design.
To add insult to injury, the smaller 8" version of this tablet DOES have the buttons located correctly (on the right of the bezel in landscape orientation), but an 8" screen is too small for watching movies, browsing the web, and reading ebooks. That extra inch of screen size makes a big difference; you wouldn't think it would but it does, at least for me.
Again, this is a *great* tablet in almost every way, but the ridiculous/terrible design choice to place the function buttons on the bottom is an absolute no-go for me. I'll either return it or sell it online.
You were SO close, Samsung, so so close. So disappointing. I guess I'll be using my old TAB A for the foreseeable future.

Works as described

At first glance other than a few buttons you can't tell the difference between this tablet and a standard galaxy tablet.
Used this in rainy wet days with gloves on, I was skeptical but it actually works pretty smooth. Had a few minor 'skips' here and there but was able to use it a full day in winter rain with thinner gloves on. I tried some thicker gloves but no luck. Performs similar to other Tablets in the same class but the touchscreen really sets it apart. Battery life also pretty good, lowest I dropped to was 35% after a 11-hour day in 40-degree temps, that and you can easily replace the battery.
Some considerations:
-If you're using this solely indoors for POS this is kind of overkill
-iPads dominate the Tablet market and unfortunately most of the business software support
-the light sensor for dimming the screen can be a bit annoying if you're rotating the tablet a lot

Wi-Fi only, unimpressed
Reviewed in Canada on February 24, 2021Style: WifiVerified Purchase
Really unimpressed that it didn't come with an instruction manual, an hour after searching the internet to figure out how to put the nano SIM card in I contacted Samsung directly to find out it doesn't accept one and it's Wi-Fi only..
Does not work for my application.
Would have been nice if they said Wi-Fi only I wouldn't have even bought it..

Does NOT have Sim card slot
Reviewed in Canada on September 6, 2022Style: WifiVerified Purchase
DO NOT purchase if you need data on your tablet! I researched my ass off on this product and apparently there are different models. The us and the Canadian. The Canadian one does not have a sim card slot (which I found out once I opened the box and looked at the tablet). Moreover, this seller will try to charge you 200 dollars if you return it.

Buena y resistente.
Único detalle, cuando la funda está puesta, es difícil "scrall down" el menú de arriba con los dedos. Hay que usar el lápiz.
Muy buen captador de señal, cómoda y con la funda, la posición es muy buena!

Rugged - Easy to Use - Fast recharging
Reviewed in Canada on February 16, 2021Style: WifiVerified Purchase
The Tablet is everything I expected or hoped for. Excellent build quality - very rugged.
I don't like the fact that no user manual comes with the tablet and that I have to download one from the internet. That led to delays in getting started using the tablet.
I also don't like that I have to acquire a samsung account in order to use some of the tablet's features.
